THE BICAMERAL VOTING PROCESS

  You may be totally fed up with your choices for president, vice president and even some of the congressional races.

You have a number of options.

You can hold your nose and vote for your party's ticket for president, congress, and senate. Then stand back and watch the Country go down the toilet regardless of who wins.

Or, you can sort through US House and Senate contests and try to pick the best person. Good luck with that.

Let's face it, we do not have a really good choice for a President this year.

I for one, am not overly enamored with the idea of putting Trump back in the White House, while at the same time I have a hard time seeing Kamala Harris negotiating with North Korea, China, Russia, or Iran.

In addition, handing either of these people the keys to the White House along with majorities in both houses of the Congress will likely lead us to disasters we can hardly predict.

With all of that said, I would like to propose that you consider a new form of voting this year. I call it the BICAMERAL VOTING PROCESS.

Bicameral is defined as: having, consisting of, or based on two legislative chambers 

So, here's the way it works.

If you're inclined to vote for the Harris/Walz ticket, then vote all of your US house and Senate races Republican. Don't worry about what they stand for, what they say, what they promise just vote Republican.

On the other hand, if you're a diehard Trump supporter or if you're leaning that way go ahead and vote for the Trump/Vance ticket for President. Then vote all the US House and Senate seats Democratic. Again, don't worry about what they stand for, what they say or what they promise just vote Democratic.

This is approach, if used widely enough, will create a check and balance in our federal government that our forefathers counted on working.

As mentioned before, I don't think either one of these candidates will be a particularly good president, and I certainly don't believe Trump or Harris should have complete control of the US government, House and Senate, so they can implement they're either right or left agendas.

Sounds almost too simple to be true, doesn't it?

But if you push yourself away from the screen for a second or two, close your eyes and think about it, it actually makes good sense.

This would make voting the top half or so of your ballot relatively simple and much less stressful.

It will also make for some interesting conversations with your friends and co-workers.

When they ask you who you are voting for just say BICAMERAL.

Do not forget the down Ballot state, county, and city races. They are the ones that really affect you every day. So, if you're going to spend time studying the elections, study the down ballot. These votes you cast can really make a difference.
